Skincare Routine

Hey gang! Wishing you all a very happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the next couple of days of a little R&R. I’m going to jump right in to today’s post and as you can see, it is different from my normal outfit posts so I hope you like! 🙂 When I was in high school I never really cared much about skin care and only really focused on tanning as much as I could trying to achieve the darkest skin possible. Which, if you can imagine for this blondie, wasn’t the easiest! haha Looking back at pictures I can’t believe how tan I was (for me anyways) and to think I thought the was good?!

Lets just say, things have changed quite a bit since high school! Over the past 6-7 years I have really started to focus on taking care of my skin because after all, age is inevitable so the earlier you take care of it, the better it will look as the years pass by. So for todays post I wanted to do give a quick break-down of the products that I am currently using and what I love about them. Now, I do like to add in different items here and there so this is what I’m using at the moment and currently loving.

Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask: Ok, so this is one thing that I honestly don’t ever change up because it has been what has worked for me the past 5-6 years. So shortly after high school I started battling some mild acne especially around my chin area so after a good year or so I decided to give the dermatologist a try. She recommended that I look for an over the counter face wash that had benzoyl peroxide in it versus the salicylic acid. I came across this one from Target  and started using it and can’t tell you the difference it made for my face. I love the creamy consistency it has as well as the option to use it as a face mask which is what I do about 1-2 times per week. I swear by this stuff so I can’t see it going anywhere anytime soon! This can be found at Target, Was-Mart, Meijer, Ulta etc. but I think I’ve found it the cheapest at Wal-Mart.

Vichy Mineral 89: combining 15 Mineral Rich Water with Hyaluronic Acid to fortify skin and make it more resistant to visible aging caused by pollution, stress to skin, and fatigue. Minéral 89 face moisturizer, with 89% Mineralizing Thermal Water, delivers a boost of hydration for a vibrant, healthy glow. I love the light-weight formula this has and the glow that it gives to my skin. I put this on every morning before my daily moisturizer.

Skin Ceuticals Daily Moisturizer: A face moisturizer that provides normal to oily skin with lightweight, long-lasting hydration as it helps to minimize the appearance of pores. The description of this moisturizer explains it perfectly and I feel like it really holds true to the product. I love this cream because it is enough to provide moisture to my skin for the day, but not too much to where I feel like my makeup is sliding around on top of it. I use this one as I have normal-oily skin.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: Reveal a smoother, more radiant, younger look. Wake up to more beautiful skin every day. Tested and proven: Advanced Night Repair dramatically reduces the look of all key signs of aging. It maximizes the power of skin’s natural nighttime renewal with our exclusive ChronoluxCB™ Technology. Lines and wrinkles look significantly reduced. More than 75% of women felt their skin looked more youthful in just 4 weeks. Skin feels smoother, hydrated, stronger. 82% felt their skin was immediately hydrated. Skin looks younger, radiant, more even toned. 83% felt their skin looked healthier, fresher, more rested in just 4 weeks. I received this in a Estee Lauder make-up package so it only came with the trial size, but I have to say I have loved using this at night. I put this on after I wash my face and before I moisturize and I really feel like it sits well under my night cream. I will definitely be purchasing the bigger bottle once I run out. Another perk is a little really goes a long way so this will last a while!

Skin Ceuticals Renew Overnight (oily) Moisturizer: Ideal for combination or oily skin, this nighttime skin-refining moisturizer diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by hydrating and exfoliating the skin. The 10% hydroxy acid blend works synergistic-ally to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Helps restore a healthy radiant complexion, diminishes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of premature aging helps clear acneic, congested skin and formulated for combination or oily skin. So this one is obviously what I use at night after my face is washed. It is heaver than the daily moisturizer, but I honestly really like that because I feel like it has all night to soak into my pores and really give my skin that extra boost it needs while I’m sleeping. I don’t wake up with my skin feeling oily either so thats another plus to it.

bareMinerals Brilliant Future Eye Cream: An eye cream that fights dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles. Clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye contour. Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. I came across this eye cream a few months ago when I was out of what I was currently using and looking to switch it up and try something new. I love this eye cream! It is very light so doesn’t sit too heavy on your skin, but yet it is super moisturizing. A little goes a very long way as well so one little dab under each eye and you’re good to go. I have noticed that it has helped with dark circles and wrinkles that I have around my eyes as well. The price point of this is also what drew me in because for an eye cream it is really moderately priced!

Rodan & Fields Lash Boost:  Get the appearance of lush, longer-looking lashes in as little as four weeks with ENHANCEMENTS Lash Boost™.* This nightly eyelash-conditioning serum features a unique proprietary formula that improves the appearance of lash volume and length for lashes that are 100% real, 100% yours. In weeks, you’ll be wondering if you need mascara at all. This is an item that I started using about 6 months ago and before that I hadn’t ever tried out a lash serum. I have to say I really like the results of this serum and the light-weight formula. You literally need a tiny bit and swipe it across your lash line as if you were putting on liner. Not only does it help with length and volume, but it adds condition to your lashes which is something I like because I typically wear waterproof mascara everyday. Now, I will be honest and end with, I naturally have pretty long lashes, but I have noticed a difference with using this and when I’m not.

Alright guys, so I hope this was helpful to you and that you enjoyed a little different post for today. Let me know if you would be interested in me switching things up a bit. Maybe some hair and makeup tutorials, etc. I’d love to know what you all are interested in! have a fabulous weekend and thanks so much for following!
